  1. I think they have tons of local afghan people support, that’s why they have won. Otherwise it would not gave gapprned.

By the way taliban are deadly against all types of drugs. In their last regime, they had burned all poppy plantations. That was very well appreciated around the world. I think thatcwas in mid 1990s.

Let the people of Afghanistan decides what they want rather than imposing our style of democracy on them.

That would be coersion not democracy.

  2. I see it starting. NOW we’re going to talk about the opium problem in Afghanistan. NOW all the stories are going to start coming out about how the evil Taliban is poisoning the world with heroin. This same country has been poisoning the world with heroin for generations. US troops actually guarded Poppy fields during our occupation of Afghanistan. But this is the second article I’ve seen since the collapse of the US backed government, pandering to the idea that the Taliban is going to increase the amount of misery in the world caused by opioids. That’s going to be a tall task to exceed the opium production during the US occupation.

  3. They are peanuts when compared to global military spending yet leveraged that to strategic victory over US led forces. 1.6B? I think US spends double that *every day* on its military.
