  1. This is good but in order to see meaningful results it won’t happen unless the Democrats can increase their majority in the Senate by at least 2 in 2022 and remove the filibuster, and then if that happens and we do see a new voting rights act it might not take full effect until after 2024

  2. The filibuster needs to be reduced in power, frequency and convenience. At the moment any group of 41 senators can just nope out of negotiations and leave the government in stasis. This is stupidly dangerous especially for budget and supply issues

  3. Maybe if they inundate the Republicans with hundreds of different voting rights acts, one will get through. God knows we need one to get through.
