  2. Article’s headline is pretty misleading, from the way it’s worded I thought it was referring to the virus actually appearing in the “junk DNA” of the human genome, which does contain lots of DNA from viruses

    I think a headline like “Coronavirus**es** made their mark on human DNA 20,000 years ago” or “DNA analysis shows human adaptation to coronaviruses 20,000 years ago”

  3. This article is very interesting. Can some virologist out there explain to me how a virus that was part of a pandemic 20k years ago can still be around? Dormant? Living in non humans? Being passed along as non virulent strain? I really would like to know the prevalent consensus in this topic.
